Our Dream Kitchen…

Two days, around $200, lots of blood, sweat and happy tears - and now we have our dream kitchen! Sharing what we did, what we still have planned to do, and all the links along the way…

The Before..

When we moved in back in January, we loved the entire house, but had plans to update the kitchen in the future. Although the color of the cabinets was pretty, it was dark and the paint job wasn’t done well. We considered getting completely new cabinets and counters, but are so grateful that we found this alternate solution.

We decided instead to use a Cabinet Painting kit, and have plans to utilize the same brand’s Countertop paint kit in the upcoming weeks to really add the finishing touches.

We sanded, and sanded, and sanded. If you do this, I highly recommend an electric sander and plan for it to take twice as long as you think it will.

Once everything was sanded, we got to cleaning. We wiped away all of the dust and made sure to remove any grease that was seeped into the cabinets.

Finally we got to painting. Surprisingly, this was the easiest step of the process. With the kit, it’s one step - no primer or top coat needed. We did about 3 coats overall. And we are thrilled with how it turned out!

Let’s get to the links for everything…

What do you think?

Can’t wait to share when we complete the counters and backsplash next.

Any questions on it? Drop them in the comments!
